The report also provides coverage of FOB and CIF prices, as well as the key factors influencing ferro vanadium prices.

Europe Ferro Vanadium Price Trend

Q3 2026:

The ferro vanadium price index in Europe moved upward through the quarter, supported by firm downstream demand from steel producers and alloy converters across the region. Germany, a key producing and consuming market, recorded firmer values as downstream special steel and automotive-grade alloy converters maintained active procurement of available material. Buyers across the region rely on a mix of domestically processed secondary material and imported cargoes, so firmer replacement costs and inbound freight fed into delivered values. Firm operating rates at regional ferro vanadium processing units kept the volume of prompt material limited for buyers outside contract arrangements. Steady demand from high-strength structural steel, tool steel, and automotive alloy applications kept inquiry levels active through the period. Logistics charges between major producing origins and continental receiving terminals added to landed costs for distributors.

Region Countries Covered
Europe Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Russia, Turkey, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Romania, Finland, Czech Republic, Portugal, and Greece, among other European countries.

North America Ferro Vanadium Price Trend

Q3 2026:

The ferro vanadium price index in North America moved upward during the quarter, shaped by firm downstream demand and steady secondary processing activity across the region. The USA, the principal producing and consuming market, saw steelmakers and high-strength alloy producers record active procurement of available volumes. Firm operating rates at domestic spent catalyst processing and vanadium conversion units kept the volume of prompt material limited for buyers placing immediate inquiries. Firmer replacement costs on vanadium pentoxide feedstock raised the cost of stock held by traders and distributors serving the domestic market. Buyers across the region depend on a mix of local output and imported parcels, so freight and inland logistics charges added to delivered costs. Steady demand from construction, energy infrastructure, and automotive steel applications remained supportive of underlying consumption.

Region Countries Covered
North America United States and Canada

Middle East and Africa Ferro Vanadium Price Trend

Q3 2026:

The study includes ferro vanadium price trends across the Middle East and Africa, taking into consideration variables that have a direct impact on market prices, such as regional industrial expansion, natural resource availability, and geopolitical conflicts.

Region Countries Covered
Middle East & Africa Saudi Arabia, UAE, Israel, Iran, South Africa, Nigeria, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, and Morocco, among other Middle Eastern and African countries.

Asia-Pacific Ferro Vanadium Price Trend

Q3 2026:

The ferro vanadium price index in Asia-Pacific moved upward through the quarter, supported by firm downstream demand and steady trade flows across the region. China, a major producing and consuming market, recorded firmer values as steel producers and alloy manufacturers maintained active procurement of available material. Japan followed a similar pattern, with downstream special steel converters and precision alloy users absorbing the volumes offered to the market. Regional buyers depend on a mix of domestic smelting capacity and imported parcels, so replacement costs and inbound freight shaped landed values. Firm operating rates at ferro vanadium smelting and vanadium conversion facilities kept the volume of prompt material limited for buyers outside contract arrangements. Export inquiries from overseas steel producers and alloy users also reduced the volume of material offered into domestic spot markets.

Region Countries Covered
Asia Pacific China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Hongkong, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand, among other Asian countries.

Latin America Ferro Vanadium Price Trend

Q3 2026:

The ferro vanadium market in Latin America is primarily shaped by regional import dependency and downstream industrial demand across steel production, infrastructure construction, and alloy manufacturing. However, due to logistics constraints and varying regulatory regimes, ferro vanadium prices might fluctuate dynamically across the region.

Product Description

Ferro vanadium is an iron-vanadium master alloy produced commercially with varying vanadium content, with several grades commonly available in international trade. It presents as a dense, grey-silver crystalline solid that can be crushed to a fine powder for use as a steelmaking additive. The alloy is insoluble in water and non-flammable under standard handling conditions. It is manufactured principally by the aluminothermic reduction of vanadium pentoxide in the presence of iron oxide or iron scrap. Principal industrial consumers include high-strength low-alloy steel producers, tool and die steel manufacturers, aerospace alloy fabricators, and vanadium redox flow battery electrolyte producers. In structural and rebar steel it refines grain structure and raises yield strength. In tool steels it improves wear resistance and hardness. In aerospace titanium alloys it enhances fatigue performance. In the energy sector it serves as the electroactive species in vanadium redox flow batteries for grid-scale energy storage.
