Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) is a white, non-toxic, and tasteless powder obtained through the substitution of hydrogen atoms with chlorine atoms in high-density polyethylene (HDPE). It has high resistance to acid, oil, alkali, abrasion, and thermal oxygen and ozone aging. It exhibits improved thermal properties, excellent filling performance, and a better compression set, flame retardancy, tensile strength as compared to its conventional counterparts. Consequently, it finds extensive applications in tapes, wire and cable jacketing, roofing, molding and extrusion, and automotive and industrial hose and tubing across the globe.
